BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY! We had a very disappointing experience with TPG Property Management company. After moving out of the property and completing our final walkthrough on the same day the home was sold to new owners, they still tried to withhold $1,550 from our security deposit for “repairs” that were completed after the sale and after our tenancy had ended.
Not only was the home professionally deep cleaned before we left, but there were also no active maintenance issues at the time of move-out. One of the repair charges even related to a leak that had already been fixed — and was caused by the seller’s plumber (a loose pipe inside wall), not by us as tenants. Despite this, we were still billed for a technician visit that had nothing to do with our tenancy.
They also provided receipts generated and created with management companies letterhead dated weeks after we had moved out and the property had transferred ownership, yet they claimed these as valid charges against our deposit — which we found to be extremely misleading and, frankly, unethical.
I would advise future tenants to document everything, take lots of photos, and be very cautious. We’re currently disputing the charges and considering small claims court under Florida Statute 83.49.
